Tip 3: Lemons

Within this last week, the inversion has de-beautified the Salt Lake valley, but I still had to shoot. So I decided I had to make lemonade out of crappy, sour lemons. And I ended up with these three pictures being the hightlight of the inversion.

My padre

I would just dedicate this post to my father. For everything. Especially a dominate will. And to share a quote I saw on a wall.

If we knew we could not fail, what would we attempt~unknown

Inversion

These last two weeks have been awful for taking pictures. There's smog everywhere! It makes the sky a dull, grey and seems to be a black hole of life. I thought I'd just show how bad the air is in the Salt Lake Valley. Oh and by the way usually there are huge mountians in the background, but the monster ate it.

day 7: Tip 2: Deleting things

One thing I never do is delete any pictures. I don't because I have had times were some pictures I would've deleted turn out fantastic. Such as this one. I was just messing around, testing differen flashes and settings.

So I thought since of the inauguration, I'd post some pictures of how I feel about Obama. OH AND CONGRATULATION UTES!! The picture of the top American Flag was taken a day after the biggest win in Utah history over Alabama. Anyways. Let's have a great 4 years with Obama. Cheers.

Day 2 and a half.

I couldn't wait to post another picture (I have no life whatsoever) so we'll just call this day 2 and a half. This is a lamp. An LED lamp that is made by KONCEPT and its really a great lamp, but anyways it made a great picture. Once again using I-photo, I just enhanced the color and leveled up the contrast. Simple stuff does the trick

Another example of using simple things

This is an example of using simple things.

Tip 1: Simple things

One of my favorite things to do is make things as simple as possble. This picture (located last daily post. The one of the guy with a jacket on, with a big light as a face) might look complex but when it comes down to it, its really not. All I did was put a hoodie on and then go into my bathroom (lights were off) and turn the flash setting on my camera to a normal flash, hold the camera to my head and take a picture. Then in i-photo, I raised the contrast to turn the backround black, then used a color fade to make the picture sort of an green. It was very easy.

Things to remember.

  • Simple makes great pictures
  • Use the tools on the camera and normal day life things
  • Do weird things. No one wants to see a normal picture.
  • Don't be afraid to screw up. Sometimes they are cooler than you think

day 2: Swirly tree, building, boots

Another blog. www.poemsmepoems.blogspot.com

I have just created another blog for any of those interested (which no one is, but just in case someone is!). It is www.poemsmepoems.blogspot.com. AND this one is poetry, yet let ye be warned that my poetry isn't top class. So if you have any comments or anything, do please comment. Feel free to comment there or here about whatever. Thanks

Day 1: First sumbition

Lights. Landscape. Portrait.

New Idea

So I'm thinking about how I want to organize my blog. I started off poorly and therefore deleting those posts. I decided to do a sort of daily images for the first month. Because I have 200 pictures ready to go, but I don't want to just post all 200 that quickly. So from now on, I'll be doing that. And I apologize for anything with deleting the posts. Sorry.

Other version of my first piture

Here is my other version of that same picture, but now we can see the Arby's and tree better. And the other picture is also in the same place, just without the red effect.

First Blog

ummm hi! My name is Avery Smith. I am young. And I LOVE PHOTO. So I thought I'd post some of my photos online and see what we get. Some backround about me is-- I took black and white film photography at my school and fell in love. Got a digital camera for Christmas and went crazy! I use i-photo for all of my edits and occastional a stop motion program. Anyways......Here is my first good photo with a digital camera. Its kinda hard to see and understand, but I think its cool. Its a picture of an Arby's and a tree, but you really can't see either but what makes it cool is its inside a car and the window has a lot of water from the snow. So its my first picture.
